This variety is quite rare and dated back to 1820 or possibly even
earlier. It has a distinctive sweet taste and very tender flesh. It is perfect
for baking in foil on barbeque or for making beet and carrot soup. Also perfect
in salads.
Early variety: only 55 days to maturity.
Plant outdoor every few weeks between March and July for longer cropping
season.
In warmer climate also can be sown in August for autumn and winter
cropping.
